We’ve all been there – we want to do something as a family but “The Teenagers” don’t want to do anything that you suggest! Well – The Valleys may well have the answer to great, whole family, days out. Here are some suggestions:
The Valleys has brilliant facilities for all sorts of cycling – the National Network allows you to explore most of the valleys on car free tracks, whilst the magnificent mountain bike centres at Cwmcarn, BikePark Wales and Garw Valley which together have routes for all levels of experience and “dare devil nature”. You can also have a go at BMX at Parc Bryn Bach.
It’s almost a disappointment when your children outgrow the playground – but across The Valleys there are loads of great adventures ideal for teenagers. There’s great climbing adventures at Summit Centre and Go Vertical, a purpose built assault course and quad bikes at Taff Quad Bikes, and high ropes and segways at Mountain View Ranch. You’ll have a great time.

We might have a “bit of rain” but that means that we have fast flowing rivers and some brilliant waterfalls – so why not share a family challenge and walk to Sgwd yr Eira – and then walk behind it!! The sound of the water falling is deafening and you are all bound to get a bit wet – a great reason to have a picnic and dry off!
There are loads of activities led by experienced adventure guides – from paintballing at Combat Zone Live to surfing at Rest Bay. Then there are watersports at some of our great country parks – like Parc Bryn Bach and Llandegfedd Reservoir.
So – all in all – The Valleys has loads of options for your whole family – even the teenagers!
