A guide to Kilburn and its properties

If you are looking for property to rent in Kilburn, you will no doubt be interested in what there is in the way of flats and houses for you to peruse.

Those keen to find flats for rent in London will certainly be taken with the Kilburn area, as there are hundreds to choose from – so you definitely will not be spoilt for choice in this part of north-west London.

The area itself is situated between Kensal Rise, Queens Park, West Hampstead, Cricklewood, St John’s Wood and Maida Vale, so you will be able to take advantage of great transport links to help you get around. There are two tube stations – Kilburn and Kilburn Park – and these both run frequently into the heart of London itself.

You might also want to consider looking at what bus links there are, as the majority of these run straight to north-west London and the West End. Richmond upon Thames is also only around 20 minutes away, so it would be a great choice for anyone who works in the city and is concerned about how to get to the office each morning.

Flats aside, you will also find that there are a number of detached and terraced houses to choose from when looking for a London house to let. Many of these are in nice leafy, quiet streets and if you make your way towards south Kilburn, you are likely to find large red brick Victorian properties.

Many of these have in fact been converted into studio flats and apartments, while the west of the area is much the same, although there are spacious mansion blocks and tall Victorian terraces to take your pick from as well.

Smaller terraces and modern purpose-built blocks of apartments – such as Gladstone Mews – can be found along Kilburn High Road.

In terms of amenities, you will not be disappointed with Kilburn. There are many attractions to be found here, such as the Tricycle Theatre and Cinema, which is renowned for putting on plays and films that reflect the local community’s cultural diversity. This would be great if you have young kids who might need entertaining during the school holidays or at weekends.

If you enjoy spending time outside and want to get away from the hustle and bustle of London, Randolph Gardens is of a good size and is situated close to Kilburn High Road. If you are interested in history, you might want to visit Kensal Green Cemetery, which is where Anthony Trollope and William Makepeace Thackeray lie.

In terms of shopping, you will find Kilburn Market sells a wide range of products from clothes, shoes and electrical goods to fresh fruit and vegetables. If you are looking for somewhere to eat, head to gastropub Osteria del ponte, or Casareccia. This latter eatery serves up home-cooked Italian fare, with pizzas baked in wood-fired ovens.

Those who prefer traditional pub culture are sure to have a great time by heading to the North London Tavern, which serves delicious yet simple food. There is also an extensive selection of ales and wines, so you certainly won’t be going thirsty. Who knows? You might even find a new favourite beverage that you have never tried before if you make this your local drinking spot.
